Kairangahau/Researcher Alex Hotere-Barnes speaks about his research into how Pākehā and non-Māori have become involved in kaupapa Māori educational research, and what issues inhibit and facilitate their work.

Wow! Not just pakeha that go through this BUT Maori too. I have this same experience when walking into Maori forums but I am totally confident that I can share my experiences and be heard because everyone's journey is different and I'm going to use my experiences to change and encourage others. My walk is not yours, as yours is not mine either!

I feel that I have an obligation to share my walk with others so that they can use what I've learnt, be encouraged to use their strengths and hopefully not repeat the same mistakes that I have.
