Algebra is the basis to mathematical concepts and understanding for students in everyday life.

Learning is based on “real world” examples to allow students to practice and reinforce learning independently.

Students are motivated to develop a love of mathematics through relevant and specific learning opportunities designed for them and their ability.

Maths learning programmes are designed to allow students to develop ability in all strand areas of the Mathematics Curriculum.

Teachers fostering and developing Mathematical talent using styles that promote the children’s use of prior knowledge and cultural understanding of mathematical concepts.

Teachers helping students to achieve the Mathematical and Statistical literacy needed in a society which is technologically oriented and information rich.

Students will develop confidence to speak in a variety of situations in Te Reo Maori, articulate their whakapapa orally and in written form in Te Reo Maori and use appropriate levels of Te Reo Maori.

Students will demonstrate understanding of cultural practices i.e.: Powhiri, Karakia, Sasa etc

Students will communicate greetings of the different cultures in our school appropriately and in context.
(E.g., Kiaora, Kiaorana, Talofa Lava, Malo Lelei, Ni Hao etc…)

Students have the opportunity to learn another language and are given the opportunity to use their own language within our learning contexts.

Students and teachers names are pronounced properly and priority is given to ensure this occurs.
